Libertas Home is a growing nonprofit based in Northern Virginia. We are dedicated to seeing the eradication of modern day slavery. Our goal is to provide a safe home in Northern Virginia for girls who are survivors of sex trafficking to enable them to create a new life for themselves. https://libertashome.org/

Libertas Home is seeking a dedicated and strategic individual to lead our fundraising efforts. As the Director of Fundraising, you will play a crucial role in directing our fundraising strategy, building a team of like-minded volunteers, and setting ambitious fundraising goals. Join us in our mission to create a world where every individual can live free from the horrors of sex trafficking. Together, let's empower survivors and prevent exploitation through the power of fundraising and advocacy!

Requirements for Volunteers

  • Support of our values. We believe in honesty, integrity, compassion, grace, and supporting each other.
  • Support of our vision to end trafficking. We are not in this to make a career, but to help others. The goal is to end trafficking.
  • Support of our prevention programs. We believe that preventing child sexual abuse and sex trafficking starts by fostering healthy families, helping vulnerable children gain self-worth, and cutting off the demand of pornography.

Volunteer Commitment Expectations:

  • Can commit 2+ hr/week to volunteer, for minimum 6 months
  • Short weekly meeting with Marketing Director (virtual).
  • Collaboration with other teammates via Slack/email, as needed

Responsibilities Include:

  • Fundraising Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan aligned with Libertas Home's mission and objectives.
  • Volunteer Team Building: Recruit, train, and inspire a team of passionate volunteers to support fundraising initiatives effectively.
  • Fundraising Goals: Set ambitious and achievable fundraising targets in collaboration with the management team.
  • Donor Cultivation: Develop and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and corporate partners, ensuring regular communication and engagement.
  • Campaign Management: Oversee fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to maximize their impact and reach.
  • Grant Proposals: Research and pursue potential grant opportunities, preparing compelling grant proposals and applications.
  • Donation Tracking: Implement and maintain effective systems for tracking donations, acknowledging contributors, and reporting financial progress to stakeholders.
  • Fundraising Events: Coordinate and manage fundraising events, from planning to execution, ensuring they align with Libertas Home's values and brand.
  • Public Relations: Collaborate with the communications team to promote fundraising efforts through various media channels and social platforms.

Required Qualifications:

  • Fundraising Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or a related field, demonstrating a track record of successful fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
  • Strategic Vision: Proven ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising plans that align with organizational goals and drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, with a talent for engaging and inspiring donors, volunteers, and team members alike.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Passion for the Cause: Demonstrated commitment to combating sex trafficking and advocating for the rights and well-being of survivors.
  • Fundraising Experience: Prior experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or a related field is highly beneficial.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities to build and motivate a diverse team of volunteers toward common fundraising goals.
  • Strategic Thinker: Adept at creating and executing fundraising plans with a keen understanding of donor motivations and trends.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate Libertas Home's mission and impact.
  • Organization and Time Management: Effective organizational skills to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Thrives in a collaborative and team-oriented environment, working closely with fellow volunteers and staff members.
  • Ethical and Professional: Demonstrates the highest level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism in all fundraising activities.
