Sacred Journey Hospice needs volunteers for its Dalton site.
The Companionship/Caregiver Relief Volunteer will provide social and emotional care to terminally ill patients and their families. It may involve reading to the patient, watching movies, playing board games, being a good listener, or giving the caregiver a break. This person will work with people of various religious faiths and cultures.
Volunteers must be over 18 years of age. Volunteers will receive an orientation and are required to get a TB test, drug screen and be fingerprinted.

The mission of Sacred Journey Hospice is to provide compassionate physical, emotional and spiritual support to patients and families while enabling them to live with dignity and comfort as they cope with issues related to a life-limiting illness.
Sacred Journey Hospice provides care to patients who have a terminal illness and their families. We visit patients in their homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, our 24/7 inpatient unit or wherever else they may be to provide care on a huge spectrum. We provide for medical, therapuetic (physical, speech, emotional, etc), equipment, medication, supplies, spiritual, social, daily living, veteran and many other needs. Volunteers are a HUGE part of our patient care goals.
