Pet Visits Needed for Hospice Patients - Warren & Clermont County

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Ohio Living Hospice

  • 4 people are interested

Do you and your pet enjoy visiting with people and brightening their day? We provide hospice services to patients all over Southwest Ohio who would LOVE for you to visit! Hospice provides special care, comfort, and support to those facing a life-limiting illness. Volunteers are a large part of hospice care and make an INCREDIBLE difference in the lives of others.

Your pet does not need to be a certified therapy pet, but they must be friendly, calm, and well-socialized and you must provide a copy of their vaccinations. The pet handler must fill out a volunteer application then undergo a background check, drug test, and hospice volunteer training. Opportunities are available in Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton, Preble, and Warren counties and you can choose if you make visits in facilities and/or in patients' own homes.

About Ohio Living Hospice

11275 Springfield Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45246, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide adults with caring and quality services toward the enhancement of physical, mental and spiritual well-being consistent with the Christian Gospel.

Ohio Living the largest and most experienced not-for-profit provider of home health, hospice and continuing care retirement communities in Ohio.

Hospice is a special kind of caring. Hospice care is patient and family centered and seeks to provide support and comfort to those facing a life limiting illness. Volunteers play a large role in this effort by sharing their skills and interests in a manner that enriches the quality of life for those they serve.

Medicare also recognizes the importance of volunteers in the delivery of hospice care. Medicare requires that hospice utilize volunteers from their local community to augment the care the hospice agency provides. Nationally, over 100,000 people serve as hospice volunteers and give millions of hours of their time to serve terminally ill patients and their families.
