Up to 24% of all Veterans experience food insecurity at some point in their lives. These Veterans have higher levels of chronic disease and higher probability of mental health challenges. The Minneapolis VA Food Pantry is meant to be a stop gap so the Veteran can access food and get connected to resources. Volunteers in this role would assist in providing healthy perishable food for our Veterans by picking items up from Second Harvest and local grocery stores - food that is ear marked as safe to consume but can no longer be sold.

Potential Volunteers with have a desire to end hunger within the Veteran population and be customer service oriented.

Volunteers in this role will use CDCE vehicles to pick up food donations from Second Harvest and/or local grocery stores, deliver to the pantry location, take food temperatures at receiving and delivery, unload and weigh donations and assist in putting donations away.

We are currently looking for several drivers with shifts Monday through Friday during daytime business hours.
