Our hospice companion volunteers visit with our patients a few times a month. These visits provide companionship to our patients and for patients living at home our volunteers provide much needed relief to primary caregivers to take some time for self-care. Common activities our volunteers do with our patients include
- Reading to the patient
- Sharing stories
- Singing to the patient
- Sharing stories
- Taking walks or just getting the patient outside on a nice day
- Playing games
- Home patients can sometimes use additional support including light house work, meal prep, or yardwork
