DOROT's Response Team for Older Adults provides a unique opportunity for volunteers to socialize with older adults in Westchester while engaging in social activities. Social Activities Volunteers and their matches can meet for a one-time session or multiple visits, depending on activity requests and availability. Opportunities are available throughout Westchester County.

Activities include:

  • Walking together in the older adult's neighborhood
  • Organizing paperwork or mail
  • Playing cards or board games
  • Practicing a foreign language
  • Accompanying the older adult to a visit to a museum, concert, or other outing

DOROT is a social services organization dedicated to addressing social isolation and promoting social connections for older adults. DOROT is headquartered Manhattan and opened a Westchester location in 2016. We welcome volunteers ages 18+ and especially those 50+ to volunteer in a wide-ranging set of roles.
