Join Girls Inc. of Los Angeles as a classroom volunteer!

Bring your boldest self to empower girls to discover their inherent strengths and mentor girls on making informed decisions while having fun.

In-class volunteers support instructors with weekly activities in our classrooms once or twice a week from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, 2 to 3 hours a day. Girls Inc. proudly serves girls in six schools located in the South and West Los Angeles area. Volunteers will be assigned to one location only.

To begin volunteering, please complete a Girls Inc. application on our website. Applicants will be scheduled to attend a Zoom Orientation to learn about our mission, program, and onboarding process.

The following documents will be required to volunteer at one of our partnering LAUSD schools:

  • Attend a Zoom volunteer meeting to learn about Girls Inc. of LA
  • Complete a Livescan background screening
  • A TB test
  • Proof of completed Covid vaccination.
  • Complete volunteer-mandated reporter training.

To begin, visit our website: https://www.girlsincla.org/volunteer and submit your application.

Description

About Girls Inc.

In partnership with schools and at Girls Inc. centers, we focus on the development of the whole girl. She learns to value herself, take risks, and discover and develop her inherent strengths. The combination of long-lasting mentoring relationships, a pro-girl environment, and evidence-based programming equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers, and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities and rights for all girls.
