Silver Lining Mentoring

Youth in foster care are looking for committed, caring adults in the greater Boston area who will have a reliable and meaningful presence in their lives. You don’t need a degree to be a volunteer mentor-you just need a caring heart and willingness to support your mentee through joyful and challenging times.

As a mentor, you will meet an amazing young person who can change your life. You can learn more about our mentoring opportunities by visiting our website: https://www.silverliningmentoring.org/become-a-mentor/

We are always happy to speak with you directly and answer any questions you may have about our programming and volunteer application process. If you are interested in connecting with us, please contact our Volunteer Manager at alex@silverliningmentoring.org or (617)-830-5216

Mission Statement

Silver Lining Mentoring empowers foster and adopted youth to flourish through committed mentoring relationships.

Description

Silver Lining Mentoring is the only mentoring organization in Massachusetts that exclusively serves youth in foster care. Founded in 2001, Silver Lining empowers foster youth in Greater Boston to flourish through committed mentoring relationships and the development of essential life skills. We provide long term one-to-one mentoring and life skills development for young people who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Our volunteer mentors are often the only adults in our youth’s lives who are not paid to spend time with them.
