Become A Victim Impact Speaker!
The Victim Impact Project is part of the "Resolve to Stop Violence Project (RSVP) at the Westchester County Department of Corrections. Crime survivors are prepared by VAS Staff to share their stories with incarcerated individuals who are participants in the group. All guest speakers are accompanied by VAS staff, who also serve as group facilitators. Sessions are held on Tuesdays from 9 AM to 10 AM. A clearance is required in order to be considered as a Victim Impact Speaker. Speakers are eligible to speak once every six months.
Providing these presentations to incarcerated individuals is an important way to educate offenders about the trauma, pain, healing and resilience that victims and their families experience as a result of violence.
All sessions are held IN PERSON or via Zoom at the Westchester County Jail.
