A Volunteer Chat Moderator is the foundation of our unique and impactful 24/7 YouTube Live experience. We are unlike typical animal rescues in that we stream our foster kittens 24/7 on YouTube from their foster room. This is incredibly impactful to our organization. Our Moderators are the frontline face to Kitkat Playroom and fill a vital role in our success to save orphan, neonatal kittens and find them forever homes. The position’s primary responsibilities are: welcoming and orienting newcomers, answering questions about our adoptable kittens and the Kitkat Playroom nonprofit organization, keeping our viewers informed with updates, and ensuring that chat comments are respectful and follow the chat rules. This position requires a desktop or laptop (using a mobile device has proven too difficult for our moderators to perform quickly.) The ideal candidate will be comfortable using the internet and their computer devices, and learning new software. The position requires a personable, detail-oriented, service-minded communicator with a genuine love for rescue cats and kittens.

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Volunteer, Part-Time, At least 10 hours per week. Flexible hours that may change each week, if you prefer. Fully Remote and we welcome volunteers from around the world.

JOB DESCRIPTION: A Chat Moderator is given administrative privileges to our YouTube Channel ( https://youtube.com/kitkatplayroom). You can sign up to cover any open 1-hour shift when you are available. We also use other software to communicate with each other and sign up for shifts. Most of our viewers and chatters are between 40-70 years old and the position is 100% volunteer-from-home, so this is an ideal position for retired individuals and persons with disabilities. Training is provided.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be reliable and on-time to cover shifts that you sign up for
• Must be friendly and personable online
• Customer service experience preferred
• Must not be an advocate of breeding animals, nor breed them yourself
• Experience in cat rescue by way of adopting, fostering, and/or volunteering is preferred

PERSONAL:

• Must be 18 years old or older and provide proof of identity
• Must sign volunteer agreement and confidentiality agreement
• Must never have been accused of animal cruelty charges
• Might be required to pass background check
