About Cake4Kids
At Cake4Kids we bake and deliver birthday cakes, cupcakes, cookies, bars, and brownies to foster children and at-risk youth -- and all of the baking and decorating is done by volunteers! We aim to raise their self-esteem with this seemingly simple gift on their special day. Cake4Kids supports as many at-risk youth as possible in the communities we serve, including homeless youth, victims of human trafficking and domestic violence, kids in transitional housing, and those in foster care. We are proud to bake for good and support the youth of Willamette Valley!
Even though volunteers buy their own ingredients and bake and deliver the cakes, we have operating costs like any other company, our biggest being staffing. Our concept of a cake for an underserved youth is fairly simple, but the logistics and scale of our organization require that we are staffed to ensure we can deliver our services on time and at a consistent high quality. Cake4Kids operations is run by a small team, based in California and Virginia, that handles all of the day-to-day logistics. Cake4Kids is privately funded by donations from individuals, small local companies, grants, and events. The fundraising coordinator will work with the Ambassador to create an annual plan to support the local fundraising goals, help grow the donor database, and gain support for the Cake4Kids mission from the local business community.

Mission Statement
At Cake4Kids, we bake and deliver birthday cakes for foster children and at risk youth. We support all sorts of under-privileged children and youth - they might be in group homes, at a domestic violence or human trafficking agency/shelter, in low income housing with or without a parent or even homeless. We aim to raise these children's self-esteem and confidence with this seemingly simple gift on their special day. It may just be a cake, but the children we bake for know somebody took the time and effort to do something special just for them. The children realize they are important and in turn can have an impact on the world. Cake4Kids is powered by an amazing and compassionate group of volunteers. Our bakers are mostly home-bakers. There are no minimum commitments - you choose how often you want to bake a cake for us. It's pretty simple - a Cake4Kids volunteer baker chooses a cake theme from our online calendar and bakes the cake in their own home and delivers the cake to one of the agencies we serve. Our volunteers never meet the children we support, but every cake is custom-made specially for each child with love.
