Join our team as a Volunteer Curriculum Conversion Specialist and help us update our LEGO Robotics Mindstorm curriculum to the new version of the LEGO software. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise in robotics and education, ensuring that our curriculum remains up-to-date and accessible for young learners.

Responsibilities:

- Review and assess the existing LEGO Robotics Mindstorm curriculum, identifying the necessary modifications and updates required for compatibility with the new version of the LEGO software.
- Adapt and convert the curriculum content, lesson plans, and activities to align with the features, functionalities, and programming languages of the new LEGO software.
- Test and debug the converted curriculum materials to ensure accuracy and functionality, making any necessary adjustments or improvements.
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Development team to incorporate feedback, refine the content, and enhance the overall learning experience.
- Document the conversion process and provide clear instructions or guidelines for educators and facilitators to successfully implement the updated curriculum.

Qualifications:

- In-depth knowledge of LEGO Robotics Mindstorms and experience working with the LEGO software.
- Familiarity with the new version of the LEGO software and its programming languages.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development principles, instructional design, and educational best practices.
- Experience in converting or adapting educational materials, particularly in the field of robotics or STEM education, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in written communication to document the conversion process and create clear guidelines for educators.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Time commitment:

This is a flexible volunteer position that can be performed remotely. The time commitment will vary depending on the complexity of the curriculum and the scope of the updates required. We estimate a commitment of approximately 5 hours per week over a specified timeline.

The STEAM Generation brings science, technology, engineering, Art, and math (STEAM), to kids ages 4 to 14 in a fun and challenging way through classes, camps, clubs, and workshops. We are proud to inspire children to build on their natural curiosity by teaching STEAM concepts through hands-on learning.
