Are you a musical person at heart who enjoys performing and sharing songs with others? Would you enjoy teaching a "rhythm class" to adults? Do you have compassion and good conversational skills? Do you enjoy activities that are meaningful and fulfilling? If so, you'll really like serving as a HOSPICE MUSIC VOLUNTEER! Below are just some of the fun activities you can enjoy with your assigned patients --

--Conduct activities depending on your talents, i.e., singing, playing an instrument or both.
--One-on-one musical activities for home-based patients.
--Playing various types of music, using an app, a CD player or a radio.
--Oversee a "rhythm band" activity, with homemade instruments or instrumental items on hand, such as finger cymbals, drumsticks, drums, shakers, etc.
--Report patient observations and reactions regarding changes in patient status to the Volunteer Coordinator.
--Document your visits on a Volunteer Visit Note.
--Attend in-services and annual memorial services.
--Be recognized at our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner!
--Practice infection control and universal precautions to ensure the safety of the patient.
--Use the PLUS* Standards in the care of patients, tasks, and interactions with others.

Thanks so much for your interest - we look forward to talking with you soon!
*PLUS Standards include: Performance, Leadership, Understanding, and Service.
