koloHUB is a non-profit public benefit organization registered in Knoxville, TN, that is providing humanitarian aid to war-impacted Ukrainians and animals and advocating for Ukraine. We are looking for three (3) passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors (members-at-large). As a Board Member, you will have the opportunity to:
- Help shape the strategic direction of the organization.
- Oversee the finances.
- Recruit and manage volunteers.
- Represent the organization to the public.
We are looking for Board Members who have
- A passion for helping Ukraine.
- Experience in fundraising, marketing, or event planning.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Here is the detailed description of Board members-at-large Roles and Responsibilities.
The Board of Directors for a nonprofit organization is the governing body overseeing the vision, mission, and internal fiscal and managerial operations of the organization. Overall responsibilities include decision-making, delegating work, and assuring decisions are conducted as intended. In addition to the ten (10) essential roles and responsibilities for the Board members described below, the Board members will serve as ambassadors for koloHUB.
- Determine mission and purposes: create and review a statement of mission and purpose based on the goals, means, and primary constituents served.
- Select the chief executive officer (CEO): define the responsibilities of the CEO and find the most qualified individual for the position.
- Support and evaluate the chief executive officer (CEO): ensure that the CEO has the moral and professional support they need to further the goals of the nonprofit organization.
- Ensure effective planning: actively participate in an overall planning process and assist in implementing and monitoring the goals.
- Program development: develop programs consistent with the mission and observe their effectiveness.
- Ensure adequate financial resources: provide adequate resources for the organization to fulfill its mission.
- Protect assets and provide financial oversight: assist in developing the annual budget and ensuring proper financial controls are in place.
- Build a competent board: articulate prerequisites for candidates, orient new members, and periodically and comprehensively evaluate its own performance.
- Ensure legal and ethical integrity: adhere to legal standards and ethical norms.
- Enhance public standing for the organization: clearly articulate the mission, accomplishments, and goals of the organization to the public and garner support from the community.

Additional responsibilities
- Know the mission, vision, and programs of koloHUB and the events organized.
- Serve as an ambassador for koloHUB.
- Regularly attend quarterly Board and important related meetings.
- Commit to participate actively in the Board and other koloHUB
- Participate in the development and annual revision of the strategic plan.
- Prepare and approve necessary organizational policies.
- Fundraise and recruit members on behalf of the organization.
- Volunteer for and willingly accept and complete assignments thoroughly and on time.
- Serve on at least one sub-committee, preferably as a chair, and attend committee meetings.
- Participate in annual self-evaluation of personal board service.
- Build a collegial working relationship with other board members that contributes to consensus.
- Respond to requests for feedback or decisions between meetings on time.
- Understand financial statements or commit to learning about nonprofit financial oversight.
- Commit to professional development (one or two training are recommended annually).
