The Forest Grove ReStore is a critical fundraising and community outreach tool of West Tuality Habitat for Humanity. The vision of West Tuality Habitat for Humanity is a community where everyone has a safe, decent, and affordable place to live. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities and is a foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty. The ReStore plays a CRITICAL role in funding our home building and home repair programs, as well as providing a way to interact with your community almost every day.

We would love volunteers to help us identify and research "treasures" and collectibles donated to our store. We get original art work, antiques, collectibles and other treasures, but we don't always have the staffing nor the expertise among staff to know that something is particularly valuable and how to price such. All you need is to come into the ReStore with a laptop or smart phone of your own and have a look at items we already have on the floor or that we have saved in a storeroom, hoping to do more research on its value before we offer it to sale.

You would come in even just once a month (we would prefer twice a month) and go through the items we have put aside for you to view. If your expertise is antiques or a particular kind of vintage item, then that's what we will have you look at. If your expertise is collectibles (plates, figurines, mugs, tins), then that's what we will reserve for you to view, research and price for us.

If you can also take photos of the items with your smart phone for your part time marketing person to use in advertising, all the better!

We would like someone to do this regularly: one day a week, or one day every other week, or one day twice a month. We would like for the person to make a commitment to doing this for at least three months. And you can do it with a friend, if you wish!

We are happy to sign off on any paperwork if you undertake this role for a class or if you want to do this for assigned community service.

We are right on TriMet Line 57!

We already involve volunteers in most aspects of our house-building and home repairs (and you are welcomed to do that too!) - but we want the community involved and invested even more in what we do, and a way to do that is involving more volunteers. In addition, we want to keep as much of our finances as possible into those home-building and home repair activities, to support vulnerable families in Western Washington County, Oregon. We have even more volunteering opportunities listed on our web site at www.westualityhabitat.org

During service, volunteers are representatives of Habitat for Humanity and our mission. In addition to complying with all laws, regulations and Habitat for Humanity policies, all volunteers are expected to follow Habitat’s Code of Conduct.
