Volunteers will spend one hour per week building relationships with students while helping them to build valuable literacy skills. AR Kids Read Tutors will follow a scripted structured curriculum to ensure that students build the necessary foundational literacy skills to become confident fluent readers. We have partnered with 5 school districts and 5 after school programs to provide a variety of tutoring days/times of sessions.

Mission Statement

The mission of AR Kids Read is to nurture a love for reading through relationships.

Description

AR Kids Read recruits, trains, and mobilizes volunteer tutors to serve struggling readers. We do this with the vision that one day EVERY child will read on grade-level.

AR Kids Read volunteer reading tutors donate one hour a week to work with students in the 1st-3rd grade on reading comprehension. We partner with both school districts and after-school programs to provide tutoring times during the day and evening. We also offer a virtual community program.
