ORGANIZATION: SECOND WIND BICYCLES

This is a great virtual opportunity to give back for those not interesting in repairing or transporting bicycles that you can do from the comfort of your own home. We need someone to help with many of the day-to-day tasks that keep Second Wind Bicycles running. These include:

  • Answering emails and phone calls regarding bicycle requests, general information, bicycle drop offs, and bicycle deliveries.
  • Organizing all pickups and deliveries with the repair team and ensuring we have someone there and enough inventory to fulfill the current requests.
  • Connecting with partners to gauge their needs and reaching out to make connections with new partners and the community.
  • Transcribing bicycle repairs to ensure proper parts tracking which helps us forecast future needs.
The opportunity typically requires an hour or less out of your day.

Mission Statement

Second Wind Bicycles is on a mission to bring the transformative power of bicycles to those who need it most - financially at-risk families, refugees, individuals in recovery, and those struggling with homelessness. Despite the prevalence of bikes, these groups are often left without access to reliable transportation. That's why we're dedicated to finding, fixing, and distributing bikes with compassion and generosity.

Description

Founded in 2021, Second Wind Bicycles is a 501c3 non-profit. We started by supplying bikes to a homeless organization and as we expanded our reach, we noticed a lack of bicycle access for those in need.

With this need in mind, we took action to fill the gap. Our dedicated group of volunteers generously give their time and skills to make a positive impact on others' lives. We are constantly inspired as we witness how God works through our organization to uplift and empower each other.
