BRC is a leading housing provider and services to thousands of New York City's individuals in need by providing outreach to homeless people living in public spaces, drug treatment, mental health care, comprehensive medical services, vocational services, and supportive communities in which to live. BRC succeeds by building trust with the people we serve; listening, acting, and providing temporary and permanent housing.
To foster a sense of community, we provide engaging, social, and fun activities beyond the scope of our clinical efforts, and we look to our volunteers to lead the charge.
Do you enjoy arts & crafts? Or is yoga more your style? Perhaps you like to fill your time with creative writing, meditation, stretching, poetry, or another hobby? If any of these brings you a little joy or relaxation, why not share your interests with our clients at the BRC CDCC? Prior to the pandemic, volunteers successfully hosted weekly groups that our clients loved. And now that things are back to normal, we are actively looking to bring more fun activities for them to enjoy. These would take place at our Chelsea location at 131 West 25th Street on a weekday afternoon, or even in the early evening at 6 or 6:30pm.
Finally, any/all potential volunteers must complete a New Volunteer Registration form, which can be found on our website at www.brc.org/volunteer Once received, you will be sent an invitation to participate in an orientation via Zoom.

Mission Statement
Helping people reclaim lives lost: We restore hope and dignity by offering opportunities for health and self-sufficiency.
Description
BRC: Helping People to Reclaim Lives Lost. BRC is a leading provider of housing and services to thousands of New York City's individuals in need. Offering a hand-up, not a handout, BRC asks one simple question: What can we do for you? BRC sees the potential in each individual it serves and provides each the opportunity to find it. Whatever our clients may seek, BRC has it, 24/7/365: outreach to homeless people living in public spaces, drug treatment, mental health care, comprehensive medical services, vocational services, and supportive communities in which to live. BRC succeeds by building trust with the people we serve; listening, and then acting, providing housing - both temporary and permanent. Building trust takes time, and a compassionate, dedicated staff of almost 1,000 employees and 1,000+ volunteers that persevere 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, never giving up.
