Change's a child's story. Become an advocate today! The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a trained volunteer whose role is to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children. Volunteer Opportunities are available in Christian, Clay, Clinton, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Marion, Montgomery, and Shelby counties.
How do you know if CASA is a good fit for you? Answer these questions:
- Do you have a heart for children?
- Do you want to make a difference in a child’s life?
- Are you 21 years of age or older?
- Can you give 5-10 hours a month to ensure abused children’s best interests are met?
- Can you make an 18-month commitment?
- Can you pass background checks?
If you answered yes to the above questions, we would love to have you join our mission!
Volunteer Responsibilities Include:
- Actively participate in a 30-hour guided learning training
- Complete an intensive independent investigation of the case
- Consult with your supervisor from the local CASA office
- Deliver Report findings to the Court
- Ensure representation of child’s best interest
- Submit volunteer information monthly

Mission Statement
The trained community volunteers of CASA of South Central Illinois will work with legal and child welfare professionals, educators, and service providers to advocate for the best interest of children that have experienced abuse and/or neglect that are under the supervision of the Marion and Clinton County judicial system in order to ensure a safe and permanent placement.

Our vision is that all children have the opportunity to thrive in a safe and loving home. Our goal is to provide an advocate to every child in care in both Marion and Clinton County.
