Calling all Farsi-speaking community members in Berkeley! We are excited to invite you to be a part of an incredible volunteer opportunity to make a difference in our community. We are having a Resident Townhall at Amistad House in Berkeley on Thursday, June 22nd at 2pm, and we need a volunteer to help us break down language barriers by providing translation services in Farsi/Persian.
As a translator, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective communication between our residents and the organizers of the town hall. Your linguistic skills will help bridge the gap, allowing everyone to participate, understand, and engage in discussions on important local matters.
No prior experience is required to volunteer as a translator, although fluency in both English and Farsi is necessary. Whether you're a native Farsi speaker or have acquired proficiency through study or cultural immersion, your contribution will be invaluable in creating an inclusive and accessible event for all. By joining our team of translators, you will not only gain a sense of fulfillment by assisting fellow community members, but you will also have the opportunity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, build strong relationships, and broaden your own cultural understanding.

Description
The purpose of the SAHA's Volunteer Program is to improve the quality of living and promote health and well-being for Satellite Housing's residents. Volunteers will help foster community by facilitating activities for the residents, such as exercise groups, art classes, discussion groups, providing health and wellness information, leading or participating in games, assisting with special events, etc. The residents really appreciate the effort that is put forth by the volunteers, and look forward to the weekly interactions.
