Ways to Volunteer
Volunteers - Volunteers help out at the event for a few hours or one day. There is no registration fee or fundraising requirement for our volunteers.
Crew - Crew members volunteer for the entire weekend and stay at the overnight location. Crew members also pay the registration fee, but are not required to fundraise.
For those Crew who do choose to fundraise the walker minimum, they would be considered Super Crew. Some benefits of being a Super Crew include a Super Crew hat and pin which you will receive at the Friday night program, eligibility for all Fundraising Week prizes, and recognition with the Challenge Walk MS Fundraising Clubs.
Volunteers help with all aspects of the event, including:
- Set up and/or tear down
- Registration
- Running stops
- Cheering at the finish line
- Route support
Some volunteer positions require specialized skills, a criminal and/or DMV background check and driving or heavy lifting. Contact Leah.Hackmaster@nmss.org or more details.

Mission Statement
To end the devastating affects of MS
Description
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services to people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and fifty-state network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

The Society offers three key fundraising activities: The MS Bike Tour, MS Walk and MS Challenge Walk. The Society also engages volunteers to help influence law-makers at the federal, state and municipal levels toward legislation important to people with MS. The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as: marketing communications, public relations, corporate and donor development, medical, legal, administrative and organizational expertise.
