Good Neighbors has many shift opportunities available for picking up local food donations and bringing the donations back to our pantry facility. We also have shifts for delivery of the food donations to local neighborhoods in need where they will have a food giveaway event for the community. The pickup and/or delivery team volunteers should be able to lift at least 40+ pounds in order to load and unload the van. They must also have a DL and insurance. Friendly, smiling faces are absolutely needed for these positions!

Pickup food donations from grocer and return to the food pantry.

Pickup food donations from grocer and return to the food pantry.

08:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Takes about 1 to 1.5 hours total and schedule/timing is flexible.Deliver food donations from the Good Neighbors food pantry another local food pantry.

09:00 AM to 03:00 PM
Delivering food to area neighborhood clubhouses for food giveaway events. Loading/unloading required.

10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Takes about 2 hours total and schedule/timing is flexible. Pickup donations from the another local food pantry and return to Good Neighbors.

Description
Good Neighbors is feeding local communities while also helping to reduce food waste! Good Neighbors helps connect food with individuals in need to help eliminate food insecurity.
Our volunteers collect food that would otherwise be wasted and then we work to get it straight into the community. This reduces hunger and food waste by leveraging existing resources to serve more people.
We understand that food insecurity is a complex problem and you aren’t sure how to get involved. By supporting our work you are helping to form community connections and bring food to those in need.

- Some pickups and/or deliveries will only require 1.5-2 hours or less. Some could take a little longer especially if completing a route with multiple pickups/deliveries. We are flexible in customizing shifts and volunteer routes to accommodate you.
