Nature Education e-Learning Developer Volunteer at CrowdDoing.world
Instructional Design Volunteer (Moodle and Nature Counter Focused) at CrowdDoing.world
Role Summary:
We are seeking dedicated, professional Instructional Design Volunteers who have a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge, especially within the Moodle learning platform and our Nature Counter initiative. As an Instructional Designer, you will be central to the development of highly engaging and interactive learning experiences for our global volunteer community. You will have the chance to design and create courses that inform and educate on the impact of nature dose, developing content for various platforms, such as Moodle and Udemy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design learning programs in line with CrowdDoing's Service Learning model.
- Collaborate with the Learning and Development Lead or Senior Instructional Designers to launch, develop, implement, and evaluate CrowdDoing’s learning initiatives.
- Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with volunteers, focus groups, or consultation with Learning and Development lead or Sr. Instructional Designers.
- Design, plan, organize, and direct orientation and training programs for volunteers.
- Create, obtain, and organize training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials, like handouts or visual aids.
- Partner with various departments to initiate or implement initiatives that require learning professional support.
Skills & Competencies:
- High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force for all communication efforts.
- Sincere commitment to collaborating with various constituent groups, including volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters.
- Able to work independently and efficiently in a virtual environment, with a proclivity towards creating and implementing new initiatives.
- Open to feedback, adaptable, and keen on continuous self-improvement.
- Comfortable working in a startup phase non-profit organization.
- Skills include Learning Strategies, Instructing, Active Listening, Coordination, Critical Thinking, Judgment and Decision Making, Monitoring, Social Perceptiveness, Writing, Persuasion, Time Management, Complex Problem Solving, Service Orientation, Systems Analysis, Systems Evaluation, Operations Analysis, and Negotiation.
- Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning content authoring tools, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
About CrowdDoing.world and Nature Counter:
- CrowdDoing.world is a virtual volunteering collaborative platform striving to help societal issues through social innovation and micro-leadership. One of our initiatives, the Nature Counter project, aims to create universal usable knowledge about the benefits of nature dose, how to access these benefits, and how to validate them personally. This initiative promotes the idea that increasing our time spent in nature can have widespread positive impacts, from mental and physical health to social capital and economic dividends.
