ReDI in Cyberspace is an online academy supporting adult learners with forced migration background. We bring humanity to virtual learning and offer our students high quality IT courses to provide them with valuable digital skills and a strong network of tech leaders, students and alumni to help create new opportunities for all.

We aim to develop ReDI in Cyberspace into a global digital education platform enabling the tech community to empower refugees and displaced people currently based in Europe.

---

The main task of the ReDI teachers is to present teaching content and to support the students in class with exercises. We usually teach classes in pairs, with teaching teams being composed of 8-10 superheroes.

Volunteers normally take over three classes a month and can assign themselves to different roles according to their own preferences (session owner, session assistant).

A volunteer teaches for one semester, from September 2024 until December 2024.

Mission Statement

Our mission at ReDI School is to break down barriers and connect the leaders of tomorrow with dignity and humility - and we need you to get there: ReDI School is a volunteer-based organization that could not live without the amazing power of our tech community across Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Copenhagen and Nordrhein-Westfalen, where our volunteers teach, mentor, and support our students along their journeys. This way we can offer all our classes without any fee for our students!

Description

The ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit technology school based in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Dusseldorf, Duisburg and Copenhagen. The school was founded in February 2016 with the aim to facilitate integration into society for refugees as well as their access to the labor market. Today, ReDI offers free courses in digital skills to IT-savvy "newcomers" and locals having no access to digital education or to a professional network. To accelerate the start of a new career, ReDI also offers different career services: workshops, career talks and networking events with tech companies. In addition, students and alumni have access to a 1:1 mentorship program.

These are the programs that are currently running in Berlin: Digital Career Program (advanced coding classes + career services), Digital Women Program (digital literacy, beginner coding classes, design track + career services), Kids & the Digital Youth Program (intro to computer skills & intro to coding).
