A Home Within is seeking up to two volunteers to help at the national headquarters. A Home Within is the only national organization focused exclusively on the emotional needs of foster children and youth. Volunteers are needed to help with research projects, special events and program administration. Willing candidates should be able to commit to coming into the office two days a week for 2-4 hours. Internship/service learning credit may be available.

At A Home Within we seek to heal the trauma of chronic loss experienced by foster children and to improve the foster care system by building positive lasting relationships and continuous connections through direct services, professional training, public awareness, and advocacy.
Some information about our programs:
Through our Local Chapters, clinicians volunteer to work with one foster child until treatment comes to its natural end. Our clinicians offer their services on a pro bono basis.
Fun, fast paced and casual work environment located in the mid-Richmond area.
We ask for a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week.
Internship/service learning credit may be available.

For foster youth who often watch people move in and out of their lives, our model creates an anchor of support.
Our vision is that all children who experience foster care are provided this essential support, ensuring that as they transition from foster care, regardless of which stage of life they are in, they have the inner tools they need to thrive. By matching youth with experienced therapists, we address the trauma and disruption inherent to foster care, help youth manage stress and anxiety, and develop the inner tools they need to become healthy adults.
