Starting in June 2020, many students failed behind due to remote learning and weak foundation. The Salvation Army will continue to provide FREE 1:1 Virtual English and Math tutoring for low-income students who are struggling academically this year.
Additionaly, we recognize that some students in our community have English proficiency nearing the standard level but require additional support with their English writing skills. To address this need, we are introducing 1:1 writing tutoring starting this semester.
We are seeking dedicated volunteers to join our 1:1 virtual tutoring program and help these students improve their English/math or writing abilities. If you are interested in making a difference and supporting our low-income students, please register to join us.
Volunteer hours that have completed at our center can also be used to apply for The President's Volunteer Service Award.
