Lemondrop is looking to add new Volunteers to our family! Due to Covid and loss of funding, we no longer are able to hire handyman, repair, (etc) professionals to assist in repair and vehicle maintenance. The vehicles we have are old, and we do as much maintenance as possible ourselves, but some repairs are beyond our knowledge. The vehicles must remain running in order for our programs to help people and animals continue.
We are in need of an individual or a company who would be willing to donate their time to provide this service for Lemondrop. All donations of time will be compensated with a tax donation receipt (if desired) for the total retail value of time/labor put in to maintenance.
Our estimate is that it will take between 2-6 hours once or twice a month.
This would include:
-Small repairs to current vehicles
-Maintenance such as, changing oil, spark plugs and other small tasks.
-Installing parts which Lemondrop has purchased into current vehicles
-Assessing any larger repairs needed
-Assessing future donated vehicles for repairs necessary for use

Please visit our website for more information, FAQ's and details about some of our resident animals. Lemondrop is 100% NO KILL. All donations made are tax deductible under FEIN 45-277-6445 as a Federal Tax Exempt NonProfit. All donations go directly toward keeping our doors open and programs running, none of our staff or Volunteers take a paycheck or salary and none of the donations go toward marketing. Lemondrop has been in operation since 2011.
At our Farm Sanctuary, we host over 100 resident farm animals, dogs, cats and exotic birds who have found permanent sanctuary with us and our Volunteers. They remain with us for the rest of their natural lives in a safe, comfortable environment.
At our Community Outreach we provide food, clothing and household items directly to more than 1000 people in need each week at our Tallahassee area distribution alone. We estimate that we reach around 150-300 people at our California location each week.
We operate in Florida, Georgia and California (Farm Sanctuary and headquarters are located solely in Florida).

- 5-10 hours per month. Depending on Sanctuary needs and vehicles dependent on repair. Hours may fluctuate as volunteer is available and willing to help.
- Must have your own transportation, and insurance. We would prefer the Volunteer to utilize their own tools, but this can be negotiated, as we have access to some small tools necessary for some repairs. Supplies would be purchased by Lemondrop.
