ORGANIZATION: FoodCycle LA

QUICK OVERVIEW: Help end food waste by collecting donated produce from farmer's market vendors at the Larchmont Farmers Market. We are looking for monthly volunteers to glean produce from the market the first Sunday of each month, and potentially moving into a weekly glean. Volunteers will need to be comfortable walking the market and lifting boxes approximately 20-50 lbs.

FOODCYCLE LA MISSION: At FoodCycle, we work to synchronously solve two of the biggest problems facing the world: food insecurity and climate damaging food waste. Over 40% of all the food produced in the US is wasted, while 45 million people lack access to healthy food. We’re working to change that by forming key strategic relationships with our partners in government, tech, the food space, and a growing network of nonprofits throughout the greater Los Angeles area to divert food from landfills and get it to the people who need it most.
