Are you looking to serve older adults in your community? Would you like to do that over drinks?
Once a month, our fantastic volunteer, Kim, puts on a Happy Hour at a different location in North Beach. We are looking for a volunteer to join Kim once a month to help facilitate conversation at this event. Around 10 people typically attend this event.
The schedule:
The second Tuesday of every month at 4 PM
Upcoming Dates: June 14th, July 12th, August 9th, September 13th
The hard truth is that people's communities dwindle as they age. This monthly happy hour creates a relaxed environment for people to meet each other and build connections. Loneliness has just been proven to be as deadly as smoking a pack a day (source: https://www.hhs.gov/surgeongeneral/priorities/connection/index.html?utm_source=osg_redirect&utm_medium=osg_redirect&utm_campaign=osg_sg_gov_connection), so we're doing everything we can to help people keep their community strong.
