Do you have an interest in volunteering from the comfort of your own home? Do you have the drive to work amongst a team of other volunteer leaders? The growing Agewell Program at Southern Maine Agency on Aging is seeking a Virtual Wellness Coordinator to work with program management and volunteer leaders to assist with scheduling Zoom-based Wellness classes. Classes offered virtually would include Tai Chi, A Matter of Balance, and more! This position would work closely with the Healthy Living Director and an existing Volunteer Leadership Team to schedule and prepare materials for the classes, facilitate meetings, and occasionally serve as a mentor by attending classes for quality assurance/support.
What benefits or considerations do you offer the volunteer(s): Collaboration with and guidance from the Healthy Living Director and Volunteer Agewell Program Coordinator; access to Agewell classes. Opportunity to help drive community program planning during COVID and beyond. Appreciation and volunteer recognition opportunities.
When and where will volunteer training/orientation take place: Remotely via Zoom: Agewell Leadership Orientation (dates TBD) & 1:1 sessions with Director, other Coordinators, and SMAA leadership. Position begins ASAP.
Other Requirements: While this is a virtual opportunity, any inquiring individual must be a Maine resident to match our efforts to support local communities.
**Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, proof of vaccination status is required for all in-person opportunities at Southern Maine Agency on Aging.**

Southern Maine Agency on Aging Volunteer Services provides opportunities to make a difference in the community through volunteer service. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, meals on wheels, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. We offer maximum flexibility and choice to our volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of the over age 55 volunteer to opportunities in selected imapct service areas to help solve community problems. RSVP volunteers receive supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where they are placed.
