General Description
Fête de la Saint-Jean-Baptiste, which translates to Saint Jean the Baptist Day in English, is traditionally celebrated on June 24. Similar to the traditional event, the event will celebrate French-Canadian heritage through music, bonfires, food and drink, singing, and dancing. Volunteers are needed for the following opportunities:
- Parking Attendant (4 per shift)
- Help direct visitors on where to park in the designated parking lots you are assigned and explain how to get to the site. Golf carts will be available for those unable to walk to the site. Tents will be provided to provide shade for volunteers.
- Road Close Attendant (2 per shift)
- Stand at the road close signage and direct traffic away. If approved for driving down the road, coordinate with other attendants to ensure road is clear, move barrier for vehicle to pass through, and then move back into place. Tents will be provided to provide shade for volunteers.
- Grounds (3 per shift)
- Be stationed on the grounds during the event to help monitor the event and ensure the grounds are kept clean. If you notice any situations that require immediate attention, notify the proper person / people to rectify the situation. Tents will be provided throughout the grounds to provide shade for volunteers, but you may be walking the grounds away from tents for periods of time.
