The Grant Writer at The Philosopher's Stone Community Outreach (PSCO) is responsible for researching and writing grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's financial sustainability by identifying funding opportunities and presenting compelling cases for support.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities aligned with the mission and programs of PSCO.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the organization's projects and initiatives to effectively communicate their impact and funding needs.
  • Write and submit persuasive grant proposals and funding applications that clearly articulate the goals, objectives, and outcomes of PSCO's programs.
  • Collaborate with program managers and other team members to gather necessary information and data for grant proposals.
  • Ensure that grant proposals are submitted in a timely manner, adhering to all application guidelines and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant applications, deadlines, and outcomes.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify new funding sources and stay updated on grant opportunities in the nonprofit sector.
  • Cultivate relationships with grant-making organizations and program officers to enhance funding prospects.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to identify funding opportunities and gather relevant data.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to create compelling, persuasive, and well-structured grant proposals.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple grant applications.
  • Familiarity with grant application processes and knowledge of funding sources for nonprofits.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and engage with funders.
  • Proficiency in using productivity tools and software, such as Microsoft Office or Google Docs.

Our initiatives include The Woman First Society, supporting women; The Abundant Harvest Community Garden, addressing food insecurity; Transcendence Pathways, fostering personal growth; and The NewARK Life Initiative, promoting kindness and unity. WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING UNPAID VOLUNTEERS!
