We are currently looking for volunteers for our Visionaries of the Year Grand Finale, a huge event that celebrates philanthropic individuals throughout our communities. These candidates put together teams, reach out to corporations and businesses, and tap into their networks to raise as much money as possible for a specific LLS mission pillar: Research, Advocacy, or Patient Support & Education.

Position Tasks

Set-Up Shift Volunteers- June 13th (12-3:30 PM) - Location TBD ~ we will meet at a location in North Chicago

  • Volunteers will help with all pre-event activities and crafting!

Event Day Volunteers - June 15th (4-10 PM) - Union Station - you will be in one of three positions:

  1. Greeters/Check-In Volunteer: This volunteer would be responsible for greeting guests into the space and giving them any materials they need as they enter. They are also responsible for checking each guest in to the event. Being a warm, engaging presence helps to boost the overall atmosphere and get everyone as excited as possible about Grand Finale.
  2. Event Night Support Volunteer: This volunteer is responsible for providing general event support throughout the night. This includes managing the different event activations in the space, helping take pictures at the step and repeat, guiding guests to their seated areas, making themselves available for any guest questions and a willingness to jump in with other projects as assigned by LLS staff.
  3. Silent Auction Volunteer: The silent auction volunteer is responsible for ensuring the silent auction at the Grand Finale goes as smoothly as possible. This includes making sure the silent auction display area and packages are neat, that guests have their questions answered or are directed to LLS staff regarding the silent auction, and any other projects that pop up along the way. These volunteers would also help with general event night support after the silent auction closes

Set-Up Volunteer Position:

  • LOCATION: TBD ~ Near North Chicago
  • TIME: 12:00 - 3:30 PM
  • DATE: June 13th, 2024

Event Day Volunteer Position:

  • LOCATION: Union Station, 225 S. Canal St. Chicago, IL 60606
  • TIME: 4:00 - 10:00 PM
  • DATE: June 15th, 2024

MISC information:

  • Once you sign up to volunteer for this event, Simone Perrin will contact you to figure out which role you are most interested in.
  • There will be a 30 minute online training a few days before the event. It will be recorded for whoever cannot make it.
  • There is no dress code for the set-up shift on June 13th. Snacks will be provided.
  • The dress code on June 15th is formal attire, with the event being black tie optional.
  • Dinner will be provided for all volunteers.
  • Most positions will not be seated positions. Volunteers will be moving around constantly or standing throughout the night.
