The Iris Network is one of the oldest non-profits in Maine dedicated to helping people with vision impairment or blindness attain independence and community integration. We are looking for Board Members with experience in the world of finance! This volunteer opportunity would require attendance at Board Meetings and participation in a committee.

All volunteers must be located in the New England area. We do not offer visa sponsorship for work or volunteer opportunities.

Helping people who are visually impaired or blind attain independence and community integration.

Description

Established in 1905, The Iris Network has been helping Maine's visually impaired community learn independent living skills through work of Vision Rehabilitation Therapists. At our main location we have an assisted living facility as well as the Training Center. The Training Center is to help people transitioning into independent life through 10-20 week programs which teach braille, cooking, knife skills, activity of daily living skills, basic home maintenance and pre-vocational skills such as resume writing, interviewing and assistive technologies.
