Canine Pet Therapy is a therapeutic intervention that provides comfort and emotional support for patients and is also beneficial to families, visitors, and staff.
The dog team visit patients, families on various units coordinated and determined by the Volunteer Department.
Dog must be certified by a reputable organization (i.e. Therapy Dogs International (TDI), Pet Partners and Good Dog Foundation and New York Therapy Animals) are all options.
Dog handler must be onboarded and medically cleared by Volunteer Dept.
