Recruiting Organization: Hope Through Housing

To help ensure that residents in low-income housing have access and availability to more health, wellness, education, and financial empowerment programs, the VISTA will help strengthen partnerships with local public and private organizations in Greater Los Angeles County to secure in-kind donations and expand Hope through Housing Foundation's volunteer program to provide the support, skills and resources volunteers need to be successful. Ultimately, the VISTA will leverage volunteers to build capacity and help residents break the generational cycle of poverty.

Member Duties : Recruit, screen, place, and onboard volunteers, including recurring scheduling and follow up. Develop and nurture a culture of volunteerism throughout the organization, including the regular use of individuals, groups, and corporate partners. Build awareness about volunteer program through various communications, media, and attending outreach events to network and identify potential volunteer partnership opportunities. Become familiar with (HTHF) volunteer policies, procedures and volunteer management system. Identify volunteer needs within Greater Los Angeles County and create and post volunteer descriptions and opportunities on volunteer management system. Track and collect volunteer data, including preparing reports monthly. Develop assessment tool to evaluate volunteer experience for individuals and groups. Work with marketing to develop recruitment materials, create and develop social media post to highlight volunteers.
