The National Alliance on Mental Illness St. Louis (NAMI STL) is hiring Lead and Young Adult presenters for our Ending the Silence (ETS) program. ETS is a 50-minute, engaging presentation that helps middle and high school aged youth learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps to take if you or a loved one are showing symptoms of a mental health condition. These presentations include two leaders: a Lead presenter, who shares an informative presentation and a Young Adult presenter who shares their lived experience with a mental health condition.
Lead and Young Adult presenters must have:
- lived experience with a mental health condition
- daytime availability
- be comfortable speaking in front of groups of people (average size is 25 people)
Young Adult presenters must:
- be between the ages of 18-30
- be willing to share their lived experience with a mental health condition
Training includes an online portion and a live, in-person or Zoom training with a NAMI Staff member. After you are trained and have passed a background check, you will be able to sign up to give your first ETS presentations.
If you are interested, please email programs@namistl.org and scook@namistl.org and indicate that you are interested in this opportunity or call 314-962-4670 for any questions.
