NAMI St. Louis is looking for volunteers to facilitate Family Support Groups (FSG). NAMI Family Support Group’s are free groups for any adult with a loved one who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. Participants share their experiences in a safe setting, which allows them to gain hope and develop supportive relationships. NAMI Support Groups are peer-led, meaning that they are led by people with similar experiences.

Family Support Group facilitators are people who have supported a family member or loved one who are living with mental health conditions and would like to help support others who are experiencing something similar. Groups are led by 2 people and will meet once each month for 90 minutes per group. Our 2024 training dates for FSG are June 8-9 and December 7-8, from 8:00am-5:00pm and will be taught online. Upon successfully completing the training, you will be a certified NAMI Support Group leader.

We are open to starting new support groups anywhere, but are especially in need of people to start groups in St Louis City, North St Louis County and Washington, MO.

If you are interested, please email programs@namistl.org and indicate that you are interested in this opportunity or call 314-962-4670 for any questions.
