To ensure Veterans receive the service and care they deserve, Providence has partnered with the nationally recognized We Honor Veterans program.
Volunteers are needed to offer Veteran-to-Veteran companionship and to participate in honoring ceremonies.
How can you help?
- Engage in conversation, watch TV, play cards.
- Listen to stories Veteran patients may have never told anyone and because of your military bond they feel safe sharing with you.
- Take part in a ceremony to honor a fellow Veteran and their family. No uniform is required.
We Honor Veterans is a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Mission Statement
Providence at Home works together with Compassus to provide compassionate hospice care and home health where it is needed most, in your home.
Description
Volunteers with Providence at Home with Compassus help provide emotional and practical support to those who are facing a terminal illness. We serve patients and families throughout Snohomish county, and Camano Island wherever they may call home (private residence, nursing facility, adult family home, etc.) Volunteers can serve in their own community. Volunteers may help by providing companionship for patients, respite for caregivers, transportation to appointments, assistance with errands such as grocery shopping, and much more. Complementary Therapists also provide massage therapy, music therapy, animal-assisted interactions, meditation, and other modalities to provide comfort to patients. Volunteers also provide support to our bereaved family members through one-on-one listening support, co-facilitating a children, teens or adult grief group, or as a volunteer at Camp Erin (an overnight, weekend camp for children and teens who have lost a loved one). In addition, volunteers help support our mission through administrative work in our offices.
