Currently looking for volunteers to visit with our hospice patients in their homes or in facilities in the greater Upper Cape Cod Area
What can volunteers do:
Read books with patients.
Watch movies with patients.
Life review and journaling
Assist them with writing letters to friends and family.
Sing songs and play music for with the patient.
Play cards, cribbage or board games.
Take a walk with the patient.
Mow the lawn or walk their pet.
Plant flowers or clean up their yard.
So many other things a volunteer can do.
All volunteers must complete a Cori and Background check, volunteer training.

Description
We started with 24 offices of a privately held Hospice Company and were bought by Amedisys in 2011. We are national, publicly-owned company that includes Hospice, Health Care and Person Care. I am looking for volunteers that will visit our Hospice patients. Volunteers are extremely important to our organization, as they can often spend a little extra time with a patient building a unique relationship. It is rewarding to be invited into some ones life at the end. The volunteers must go through 16 - 20 hours of free training prior to visiting with patients. Many have said that this is one of the most rewarding experiences that they have ever experienced. You will cry, you will laugh and you will experience the best of the human spirit.
