Photographers needed to take photos of our cats and kittens to showcase their unique attributes. Photos are often the first thing that sparks the interest of potential adopters. We need photographers who are patient and willing to take the time to capture the personalities of our cats and kittens in positive and interesting ways.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to rescue and care for homeless cats & kittens until we find them loving homes.
Description
St. Francis Animal Rescue of Venice, Inc. (SFAR) was founded in 1992 when a devoted group of cat loving women banded together to feed and spay/neuter a colony of feral cats living by the beach in Nokomis, FL. These women recognized that there was a need to help abandoned and homeless cats in the community. SFAR operates solely from private donations and proceeds from our Thrift Store. We currently have an ongoing need for volunteers willing to help in our adoption center where we have 30 - 50 cats and kittens available for adoption at any given time. We also have a permanent sanctuary which houses approximately 35 permanent resident cats. Volunteers provide these cats with regular social enrichment. Our Thrift Store is vital to the operation of our shelter as all proceeds, less operating expenses, go directly to the care of our adoptable and permanent resident cats. Numerous volunteer opportunities exist at our store for people interested in having less direct contact with, but still having a direct impact on, our cats.
