Desert View Hospice is looking for gentle, sweet, kind, patient individuals whose goals for volunteering are to have a life changing experience. In order to be successful in this endeavor, you need to be emotionally strong enough to accompany another human through their dying experience. You need to be creative enough to help give your patient the best quality of life they can have with the time they have left. You need to be compassionate enough to provide them with the emotional support they need to continue to feel worthy. You need to be kind enough to always remember, this journey is about them.
If this opportunity speaks to you, please join our team. We pride ourselves on our volunteer training program and provide emotional support individually and as part of the team. We look forward to meeting with you!! We'll leave the light on for you.

Mission Statement

To provide the best possible individualized care to our patients by prioritizing the comfort and quality of life based on every symptom and concern during the palliative and end of life journey.

Desert View Hospice helps our patients and families navigate the medical, emotional and spiritual aspects of end of life care- providing comfort and care during a challenging and difficult time. Our goals are to have an amazing pool of volunteers to match with our patients and families to provide everyone involved with an endearing meaningful experience that will be remembered always. There are no words to describe how significant the hospice journey can be. And to be granted the privilege of sharing that time with a vulnerable patient/family is a such a powerful honor. Desert View Hospice does hospice care- and only hospice care- to provide the best experience available for those in our charge. Volunteers provide care on their time schedule and within their comfort zone. Desert View Hospice asks that you be at least 21 years of age and able to drive to patient's homes (you will not be asked to transport patients or family members).
