VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR Q CON - L.A.’S NEWEST LGBTQ+ COMIC CONVENTION

Saturday, June 17, 2023
10 am to 5 pm
Fiesta Hall at Plummer Park
1166 N Vista St, West Hollywood, CA 90046
Admission: Free

  • Q CON is a fun, festive community event celebrating LGBTQ+ comics and geek culture.
  • Volunteers will help with attendee check-in, monitoring areas of the con and more.
  • We also need volunteers with arts and computer graphics skills before the con to help prepare graphics and con materials.
  • Volunteer shifts will average 3 hours.
  • Snacks and beverages will be provided. Volunteers working midday will get lunch.
  • Attire - casual, fun clothes and cosplay is encouraged!
  • The event is supported by the City of West Hollywood Arts Division as part of the WeHo Pride LGBTQ Arts Festival and is family-friendly.

Prism Comics is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the work of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) creators in the comics industry, as well as LGBT themes in comics in general.

Prism has the following goals: To educate the public about gay themes in comics To recognize gay creators and support personnel in the comics industry To promote the mainstream achievements of gay comics industry creators To encourage the exploration of gay themes by straight comics industry creators To encourage and facilitate gay-themed forums at comics conventions To provide forums for discussion of gay-themed comics content via printed publications and the Internet
