Interested in helping adults learn the English language? Want to help them become successful readers and writers? Become a volunteer literacy tutor with the Lake County Library’s English as a Second Language (ESL) Program!

We offer one-on-one FREE tutoring for English speaking adults to improve their reading and writing skills, prepare for a GED test or Citizenship application, and more. Tutoring is offered around the lake at each library branch.

Many adults want to improve their reading and writing skills so they can access better jobs, further their own education, and advocate for their children. Through hard work and perseverance, adult learners can change their own, and their family’s lives, for the better.

If you have a good command of English reading and writing skills, and an interest in helping others, contact the Lake County Library's Literacy Program at 707-263-7633 or email literacy@lakecountyca.gov. You can also read more about our program at https://www.lakecountyca.gov/836/Literacy-Program.
