In hospice, our goal is to make however much time one has left the best it can possibly be. Volunteers play an essential part of that. When someone lives at home, their caregivers may not be comfortable leaving them alone so they can get essential errands done, or they just may need a little bit of their own self care time. If the person lives in a facility, that extra smiling face may be just what they need. Even if you go and just sit with them while they nap, when they wake up to a smiling face, it makes their day. We can mostly work around your own schedule, you can do as many or few hours as you want.
