Training Requirement:
6 weeks, 2 days per week, 3 hours per day.

Teaching Commitment:

6-week program, 2 ½ hours per week, 1 day per week

Information about the volunteer opportunity:
Ethos’ My Life, My Health healthy aging workshop will help seniors get the support they need, find practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, discover better nutrition and exercise choices, understand new treatment choices, and learn better ways to talk with their doctor and family about their health. This opportunity is suited for seniors that have conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic pain, anxiety, this workshop can help seniors take charge of their life. You as a volunteer will be able to make a big difference in their lives!

Description

Ethos is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1973 (as Southwest Boston Senior Services) for the purpose of serving the elderly and handicapped of Roslindale, West Roxbury, southern Jamaica Plain, Hyde Park and western Mattapan. The agency provides approximately 4,000 people per year with services such as: case management, protective services, homemaker/personal care, transportation, congregate and home delivered meals and volunteer opportunities.
