Mental Health & Suicide Awareness - September 28, 2024 - Lakeland, FL

Whether you have struggled with suicide yourself or have lost a loved one, know you are not alone. Suicide is the tenth leading cause of death in the United States and the eighth leading cause of death in Florida.

"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world."

We couldn’t accomplish all we do without the support of our volunteers, many of whom have a personal connection to the cause. Their passion, support, and hard work makes all the difference and provides the backbone of community that is felt by more and more people every day.

We need volunteers for the 3 rd Annual Ride Out of the Darkness. This ride has had almost 300 bikes/vehicles in the last 2 years with over 500 people showing up for the Rally & Cookout afterwards. We are riding in memory of those we have lost to suicide; the aftermath families must face, those who struggle daily, and need resources. Our mission is to bring awareness about suicide to all. This ride is about them and to help others, so we do not have to ride for them. This will be an escorted ride. The Rally will be after the ride from 11am to 3pm for raffles, entertainment, vendors, music, and community fun.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: We will need 15 volunteers to be the Registration Team the morning of the 3rd Annual Ride Out of the Darkness. These volunteers will register the people riding in the line. There is pre-registration table, same day registration table, and tshirts to give to those who pre-registered. All volunteers get a free event t-shirt.

Love Surrounds You Memorial Foundation is partnering with Lakeland Harley Davidson, Veteran's Infidels MC to support all veterans, and other positive organizations to raise awareness about suicide and mental health. We raise money for scholarships to help those in our local community find hope, support, and resources by unifying the community, all motorcycle riders, and 4-wheel riders from all over for the same common purpose.
