ORGANIZATION: Orangewood Foundation

Orangewood Foundation serves young people throughout Orange County between the ages of 11-25 who have experienced foster care system, homelessness, at-risk or have been identified as survivors of human trafficking, and those coming from under-resourced households.

The Orangewood Challenge and Fest is one of our biggest fundraising events, featuring live entertainment, vendors, fitness classes, and an obstacle course challenge all geared to raising money for our programs and services.

ORANGEWOOD CHALLENGE / ORANGEWOODFEST

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

DATE: Saturday, May 3, 2025

LOCATION: Newport Dunes, 1131 Back Bay Dr, Newport Beach, CA 92660

VOLUNTEER ARRIVAL TIME: 8:00 AM or 9:00AM, 10:00 AM, or 11:00 AM

VOLUNTEER WALK THROUGH: 8:30AM

EVENT TIME: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM

MEALS FOR VOLUNTEERS: Lunch and snacks will be provided.

PARKING: Free for volunteers. ($15 for guests)

ATTIRE: Casual, comfortable pant or shorts. You will be on your feet so wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes like sneakers. Bring a sweatshirt for the morning as it will most likely be overcast.

TOTAL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: 78 Volunteers

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW :

Event Set Up (5): These volunteers would be helping set up the event along with the production company.

6:00 AM - 09:00 AM

Welcome/Parking Attendants (4) - These volunteers should be friendly and cheerful as they will be greeting guests when they first arrive. Volunteers will be directing traffic.

8:00 - 11:00 (2)

10:00 - 2:00 (2)

Course volunteer (50) - Help direct racers at specific obstacles along the course. Involves standing in one place for a period of time and interacting with racers.

8:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Runners (6) - Help staff with event communication, volunteer and guest needs. This will be an active position.

8:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Beach Class Check in (4) : These volunteers will be able check in each person attending the fitness classes by making sure they have waivers completed. Fitness classes will be at 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, and 10:00 AM OrangewoodFest Info (4) - Orangewood Staff

Fans in the Stands (30) - This role will be grouped in groups of 10 to go along the course and cheer the teams on. 8 AM- 12 PM

Beach Games (2) - Engage and oversee the activities and beach games at each pavilion.

Arts & Crafts (4) - Engage and oversee the arts & crafts booth
8:30 AM - 12:00 PM

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Breakdown (10) - Help break down and pack up small items. Requires some lifting and bending.

3:00 PM - 4 PM
