Position Overview : Do you want to make a difference at an organization that is helping to protect people’s health and advancing greater health equity? Project N95 may be looking for you! We are seeking passionate, creative, organized individuals to share their time and talents as a Volunteer Communications Associate. In this role, you will work closely with the communications team to organize and create engaging and informative content for various platforms. This is also an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in building their portfolio while contributing to our important work.

"Who We Are"

Project N95 was founded in March of 2020 to address the acute and urgent need to provide PPE supplies to frontline health care workers. Today, Project N95 continues to protect numerous communities including people who are elderly, people who are immunocompromised, people who cannot afford high-quality masks, teachers and academic administrative staff, and more. Today, more than 3.7 million masks have been donated to people and communities in need.

In 2022, Project N95 expanded our focus to healthy indoor air and launched our "Clean Air for All" air purifier donation program. Healthy air is critical for our overall well-being, learning, and quality of life. We provide educational information and resources about respiratory protection and healthy indoor air on our website, as well as via social media, virtual events, email, and more.

Ways You Can Help

  • Collaborate with teams to help create and organize content for various platforms, including social media and our website
  • Assist in managing our social media channels by creating and scheduling posts, and responding to comments and messages.
  • Assist with planning and production of virtual events and town halls, hosted on Zoom.
  • Research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to ensure that our content is effective and engaging.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions as available to develop new ideas for content and campaigns.

Skills and Experiences

Required :

  • Our work is 100% remote. You will need to provide your own device and have a comfortable office space with reliable internet.
  • Passionate about health equity and promoting respiratory health
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with social media management, including scheduling and analytics.
  • Creativity and a keen eye for design and aesthetics.
  • Experience organizing events and projects with multiple teams/stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to commit to at least 5-10 hours per week

Preferred (Any of the following would be welcome skillsets):

  • Social media : Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube
  • Remote communications : Slack, Zoom, Google Meet, etc.
  • Document creation and sharing : Google Suite
  • Design and Editing : Canva and Figma, Adobe Creative Suite a bonus
  • Copywriting : social media posts, virtual event slides
  • Video : creation, editing
  • Market research : competitive websites and social media, influencers
  • Brainstorming : Google Jamboard
  • Organization : to-do lists, production schedules

After launching on March 21st, 2020, Project N95 is now a leading rapid-response, charitable 501(c)(3) organization addressing the COVID-19 pandemic and PPE shortage crisis, having provided more than 5 million units of PPE to healthcare and essential workers.

  • We provide verified healthcare and community organizations the opportunity to purchase PPE, including vetted respirators, masks, gloves, & face shields, at prices they can afford or for free with philanthropic support.
  • We are volunteer-powered, including 100-plus individuals with backgrounds in sourcing, healthcare, government, startups, and technology.
  • We are committed to transparency and serve as a trusted partner for healthcare and essential workers, including major medical associations - AAFP, ACP, and AMA.
  • We believe that anyone for whom work is essential deserves to have the PPE they need to do their job safely.
