Gentiva Hospice is looking for US Military Veterans (or actively service military) volunteers (age 18 and up) to help provide support to Veterans with life limiting conditions and their caregivers. Veteran-to-Veteran Support Volunteers have the opportunity to build an invaluable bond with another Veteran that no one else can. How you serve and how often is completely up to you! Here are a few examples of how our Veteran-to-Veteran Support Volunteers can serve:
- Provide companionship and emotional support to fellow Veterans and their caregivers
- Provide respite (sitting with Veteran/patient) while caregiver runs errands
- Run errands for the Veteran and their caregiver (grocery shopping and other errands as needed)
- Assisting Veterans in enrolling and accessing VA benefits
- Participate in our Veteran recognition and pinning ceremonies
- Assisting with replacing of lost medals and awards
You choose how you want to serve and how often.
